Since I was young, I have always wanted to own my own business. I'm 26 years old and determined! Finally I think I'm onto something! My husband and I tried to force business opportunities in the past but this is something I am extremely passionate about. The journey will be long and challenging, but I know that the best version of me will come out of it. With so many hurtles ahead, I would like to document my journey and hopefully inspire other young entrepreneurs by giving advice, direction and motivation along the way. As I've said before, I've always wanted to own a business. My first thoughts were to franchise or do something with relatively little work like owning a laundromat or something of the like. I knew I would enjoy the freedom but wouldn't enjoy the mundane work. So I kept my eyes and ears open and trudged through my 40 hour work weeks as an Optical Manager.
As a pretty health conscious vegetarian who enjoys cooking, I'm always looking for new and creative ways to re-vamp my regular boring meals. Salads always seem to be my go to since there's a million-and-5 ways you could mix up a healthy dish with your favorite flavors! It seems I've become a bit of a snob when it comes to salads... I remember when I was a teen the only meal I would EVER order was a Ceasar salad, but MAN I knew where all of the good ones were. Being so health conscious my favorite quote was "you are what you eat, so don't be fast, cheap or easy". Why the hell not?! Why is it that the only healthy food available is at a sit down restaraunt with a higher price tag, a crappy drive through or grocery store with no flavor or make it yourself. I don't freaking like those options! One day a co-work brought up a drive through salad restaurant (who shal be un-named) and an immediate GIANT lightbulb went off. I knew this was something I would love to do, so I began digging. Please feel free to leave me comments, this is my first blog, I would love to hear your feedback. Stay tuned and continue following me! I will be posting every Wednesday morning for now. You can also follow me on Twitter; jordan@saladdash.com or by email at jordan@saladdashaz.com.

Great post and I love the idea behind your business. I also want to one day own my own business, but I'm still working on the exact idea. I'm also a vegetarian, so I can relate to having a limited choice of healthy, tasty food that I can actual eat, on the menu - though, I don't like Cesar salad, so I guess that narrows down the choice even more lol. I also love the quote "you are what you eat, so don't be fast, cheap or easy" - never heard it before, but I'll probably use it in the future. Good luck with the business.

AuthorI'm 26 years old and have always been a goal driven person. Growing up my parents always fought about money and struggled financially in general. I told myself at a young age that I would't let that happen. I believe strongly in working hard for what you want and have made myself very proud doing so. Archives
